Twenty-five years ago, I was an unqualified childminder with no formal training. At that time, I didn’t see myself as a professional, I was simply doing a job I loved.

But with the encouragement of a tutor, I completed my Level 2 Childcare qualification, and then my Level 3 in Childcare. That was the turning point. Those qualifications gave me the confidence to see myself not just as someone who cared for children, but as a professional with skills and knowledge to offer.

From there, I developed a passion for learning. Over the years, I became an assessor and tutor, then an IQA, then a Head of Department, Head of Quality and Curriculum, and now the proud owner of COCAL Distance Learning College.
